First of all, thank you for your purchase of Tonic, Giant Bubble Formula. Here are some tips for making the best bubbles you can from your solution.
TIPS
1. Mix the contents of your Tonic concentrate before you pour into a bucket. The formula does tend to separate and you want to get all the goodness out. When adding the three quarts of drinkable water to your concentrate, use the tonic container. This will help get all that goodness out and into the bucket.
2. Try to avoid making too much foam–so fill things up slowly, and pour liquids slowly. Might want to wait until most of the foam dissolves before making bubbles. Yes, this will be difficult because we’re all impatient about bubbles!
3. Keep your wand and your solution as clean as possible. Don’t leave your wands on the ground because you’ll add dirt to the solution. Cover any unused solution for use later.
4. Don’t break your neck! Bubble solution makes everything slippery. So don’t blow bubbles on a smooth surface. And please don’t poke people with your wands, or swing it, or whip it, or otherwise weaponize it. Big bubble wands are not toys. They are sticks with long lengths of string. Don’t let young children use them unsupervised.
5. Take turns and share. Bubbles are more fun with others.
6. Be patient. It does take awhile to learn how to make big bubbles, but you’ll get the hang of it.
7. Be smart. Bubbles are a wonderful science lesson. Making good bubbles is also dependent on things like weather. Don’t make bubbles in a hurricane or thunderstorm. Duh. But the best conditions are when the humidity is higher and when the wind isn’t too strong. And if the sun is really strong, your bubbles will evaporate quickly. We like the very late afternoons as the sun is setting…you’ll love the bubble colors at that time too! Also don’t blow bubbles when you are hungry, have a fever, or are nursing a toothache.
8. Be creative. Make your own wands or use different things in your home. Your mom will give you extra love for this. Well, at first she might be “angry mom” but then she will love you for being so intellectually curious. Anything that makes a loop will make a bubble. Cotton fabric or string seems work well because it holds a lot of solution in the wand.
9. Be prepared. To be addicted to FUN! But also be prepared to be disappointed when you run out of solution. The solution goes really fast when you make big bubbles. If you need more, just let us know.
TRICKS
1. You can quickly learn to blow little bubbles in the side of one of your big bubbles. Gently blow into the side until you form little guys in there. You’ll pop a lot of bubbles too, but you’ll get it.
